Vinci Airports buys stakes in Mexican airport operation

French-based operator Vinci Airports signed an agreement to purchase 29.99% of OMA (Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte).

This transaction allows Vinci Airports to add 13 airports (located in Northern and Central Mexico) to its portfolio. The airports handled a total of 23 million passengers in 2019 (18 million in 2021).

The financial closing is expected to be complete by the end of 2022 at which point Vinci’s network will include more than 70 airports in 13 countries.

Vinci Airports assumed control of Manaus International Airport (MAO) in Brazil at the beginning of the year. Vinci also operates Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago. The 20-year contract was won in 2015.
