Retail design and insights consultancy Portland Design is set to present the findings of The Digital Journey, its second bi-annual report produced in collaboration with TFWA, at the organisation’s annual global summit on October 1-6.

Portland’s Director of Environments, Lewis Allen, will take part in the Digital Focus workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 3, while on Friday, Oct. 6, Terna Jibo, Head of Portland’s Strategic Insights Unit, will host the Ideas Lab as part of TFWA’s Digital Village – an exhibition showcasing new digital solutions for travel retail which will run alongside the main TFWA event.

Earlier this year, Portland Design partnered with TFWA to produce bi-annual TFWA Monitor reports in order to help the Association’s 500+ members stay on top of technological and cultural changes shaping the duty-free and travel retail sector.

At the Digital Focus workshop, which takes place at Salon Croisette at the Majestic Hotel, Allen will explore how the latest transformative initiatives in digital and online marketing can be leveraged by airports, retailers and brands.

On Friday morning at Gare Maritime, Portland will curate the Ideas Lab, an hour-long event which will feature industry speakers including Holovis’ Hayley Kenney, SKYdeals CEO Julien Sivan and Kshitij Goyal of Duty Free List. Led by Terna Jibo, the panelists will discuss the significant challenges for the travel retail industry from a digital perspective and share new thinking, ideas and concepts for meeting the demands of passengers, brands and airport operators.

Allen said: “I hope visitors at these events will be inspired by the exhibitors and feel excited and empowered by the insights and ideas presented.”
