São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport set a record number of passengers in 2018.

More than 42 million passengers passed through the airport last year. The record beat the previous one in 2014, when during the World Cup in Brazil, 39.5 million passengers passed through GRU, says the airport.

The 2018 passenger numbers are 11.2% higher than in 2017. Domestic passenger numbers reached 27.3 million, while international travelers numbered 14.8 million.
