ATTENZA Duty Free won a public bid for a 10-year contract with Tocumen International Airport to operate a multicategory duty free store in the new terminal.
In line with its strategy to further expand its presence in the regional travel retail business, ATTENZA Duty Free will add 1,452 sq m. of retail space, supporting the expansion of the Panamanian airport.
Scheduled to open in early 2019, the new terminal will give Tocumen International Airport the capability to handle 25 million passengers a year.
Attenza is the commercial division of Motta Internacional, based in Panama, and operates and supplies more than 55 duty free stores in six countries in Latin America.
According to the company, the new ATTENZA Duty Free store will offer a wide range of products including most categories such as liquors, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, accessories, confectionary, sunglasses, watches, writing instruments, as well as fashion. Earlier this year, Attenza Duty Free opened their renovated store in Terminal 1.
Erasmo Orillac, CEO of Motta International, commented, “We are very pleased and excited about this new project not only because it reinforces our strong commitment to grow in the regional travel retail market, but also strengthens our relations with our commercial partners.”
